1.1. Pre-Flight
Before starting the engine, you should have already checked the ATIS for the current weather conditions and the runway in use.
1.2. Start-up and Taxi
Pilot requests taxi clearance:
"Kassel Information, Cessna ED-FBMR at Apron 1, VFR to Paderborn, information [ATIS identifier]."
Tower (Information) gives taxi clearance:
"Cessna Echo-Delta-Foxtrot-Bravo-Mike-Romeo, taxi to holding point runway [Runway Number] via [Taxiway(s)]."
Pilot reads back clearance:
"Taxiing to holding point runway [Runway Number] via [Taxiway(s)], Cessna FBMR."
1.3. At the Holding Point
Pilot reports ready for departure:
"Kassel Information, Cessna FBMR at holding point runway [Runway Number], ready for departure to Paderborn."
1.4. Takeoff
Tower gives takeoff clearance:
"Cessna FBMR, cleared for takeoff runway [Runway Number], wind [Direction] at [Speed], after departure change frequency to [Frequency]."
Pilot reads back clearance:
"Cleared for takeoff runway [Runway Number], change frequency to [Frequency] after departure, Cessna FBMR."
1.5. After Departure
Pilot signs off:
"Kassel Information, Cessna FBMR is airborne, changing frequency to [Frequency], good day."
Tower acknowledges:
"Cessna FBMR, understood, have a good flight and good day."
